Beautiful morning

I got up early this mornin' to put a little water on my bean seeds and cucumber seeds. They had been callin' for rain but I haven't seen any.
This morning the clouds were moving fast and low with the wind makin' itself known. The sun would break through every once in a while and cast light that looked almost fake. Like it was a high dollar lamp in some boutique hotel out in LA.
I can't get enough of days like this.
I wanted to stay there till darkness fell but had family duties buzzin' from my iPhone.
I was able to pickup some saw dust with my front end loader and shovel it in around a few tomato plants before I left.
Wish I was still there. Always wish I was still there.

Organic Heirloom Tomatoes

This year I've scaled back on the number of plants I've put in the fertile ground at Deep River Farm. Being a one family operation has it limits but it also means that every plant will be babied from start to finish. I'm growing German Pinks, Parks, Celebrity, Roma's, and Lemon Boy this year. If you are local restaurant, interested in serving your customers only the finest organic heirloom tomatoes please consider purchasing from my micro farm. Each tomato will be picked because it's vine ripe and not picked for shipping. This will insure your patron's will receive the finest in taste and nutrition.
Please email ben@deepriverfarm.com for pre-orders and or a visit.
Thanks.

Drivin' n Cryin' on a tractor

My old songwritin' friend Kevin Kinney, from the band Drivin' and Cryin', came out to the farm today with another good friend Tom Tillotson. We had a great visit and both of these fella's are from the salt of the earth. I look forward to another time together.
